I face the east and ceremoniously raise a bottle (of water) in a toast to the entire "Grape Escape Group" from the deserts of Arizona to the gates of Roma...What a glorious day you all had...
Cynthia you are brilliant... I so loved your post and the Lucy sketch brought a huge nostalgic smile to my face! Ahhh here's to you and "La Dolce Vita!" :)
Oh...i've missed so much, being off the computer..just stopping by quickly but will be back tomorrow to catch up. I know there will be lots of fun things to read here!
Well, frenemy, I think we came through this with our frenemyship intact. I'll look the other way as you toddle out the door with all those biscotti bulges in your valise, and I'm sure you'll do the same for me as I exit your vineyard making unusual sloshing sounds and bottle-shaped lumps in my coat pockets!
Let me know what the final damage is, and I'll notify our banker in Swissland; he may have to delve into the numberless account for this doozy of a party!
Margaret Ann! Thank you for the toast! I am facing the west and toast you with my morning coffee. It was a "trip" spending the day in Roma.
Sandy we wanted to take birdy pics for you but we couln't get them to pose for us. They only speak Italian.
Soulbrush! What a brilliant idea! I might just do that - at least until my dentist appt at 3:00. Back to the real world!
Ah my frenemy in adventure and intrigue! I have biscotti bulging out of my pantry (did I just say bulging? I hope I didn't cause you to faint or flutter) now as a daily reminder (till it runs out) of a day well spent in the bloggy fields and sights of Rome. Our bloggy friends outdid themselves with wonderful posts to make our visit to Rome a delicious, educational and fun day.
Thank you for taking care of calling Hans Johannsonn. He never understands anything I say when I call - you speak the language better than I. I've even tried pig latin - my second language) but to no avail. Feel free to replace the 32 Murano wine glasses. And next time, get those artifacts insured. Do you think the museum will noticed the chips and dings? Do they keep track of those kinds of things? They're so anal!
It was grandfather of Hans, founder of the bank, who taught me to speak Swisslish. Very good teacher, and boy could he pack away the Schnapps like nobody's business! But that's all by the by...
The 32 Murano wine glasses were 17th century and irreplacable. But thanks for the suggestion.
Insurance? Dahlink, the museum had me sign a waiver long time ago regarding insurance. They absolutely refuse, ever since the 'loan' of the Bellini statue that ended up in the Tiber river after the toga party in '95. Remember that fiasco?
Liv - feed me enough schnapps and I can speak just about any language fluently - except for the African language that includes the clicking noises. I tend to eat Dorito's with my Schnapps and it sounds more like "tha tha". Highly ineffective.
You've been missing that statue all this time? I hired Rolando Benibueno to get that out of the river and I've been using it as a coat rack in my great hall all these years. I thought you had noticed it. I was hoping that toga party wouldn't come up - but now that it's out there, wow whatta night!
Well my dear, go lay down and put a cold compres on your forehead. What a fun day that was! Sorry to say there are only crumbs and sprinkles left from the donuts. Pierce is back at basic training with his newest Bond Girl - Lady Lavinia! And well, I've been promoted, I'm the newest Miss Moneypenny! Thanks again for a great day! Janeen
Thank you so much for a once in a lifetime experience. You and Miss LadySlipper certainly put on a grand party. Avery and I had so much fun. Fun was had by all!
It was all of that and more, Muse! It was an extravaganza! Since my mother just returned home from the hospital the day before, I didn't think I'd be able to participate, at all! So glad I had the chance to partake. Grazie. And thank you for your fun comment on "Socko". I have a rerun of an older script up on whose role, EVE's GOT MAIL, until I catch up. I hope you enjoy! Buona notte!
Welcome to my blog, your #1 source for eclectic punctuation! I pretty much write about anything I feel like writing about. I'm honing my disorganization skills and avoiding things such as New Years Resolutions, promisory notes, goal setting, kitchen utensil purchases and cleaning out the junk drawers. Whatever.
