Yearbook Fun

Several of my bloggie buddies - including Willow and Kat -been going over to a site that allows us to see how we would look in a yearbook had we graduated from high school in the 50's and 60's. I'm game! This is what I got:
First I did a picture for 1963:
And then I did one for 1969:

Waddya think? They turned out rather nice. Got those early sixties and late sixties looks going on here.

Oh, wait! I was supposed to go to that site, wasn't I. Well I don't have to - I'm no -whipper-snapper, ya know. I've been around the block a few times. These are the real me.

The first picture is my high school graduation picture from 1963. The second one was taken in 1969 while I was employed with Michigan Bell Telephone Company. I think it was for my "permanent" file. Kind of a mug shot. It's probably still stuffed in a green file cabinet at the central office.

I LOVED that dress in the '69 picture! It was red wool, a-line, size 8 (eight!) and it had a matching coat that buttoned just under the white piping around the stand up collar on my dress. I was so stylin' in those days.

I'll go to the yearbook site later and see play with those pictures - see how I would have looked in the 50's

I thought you were awfully fast! And both of these hairstyles are on that site. I searched for an hour and couldn't for the life of me find my album with my HS grad piccie. Love the real you!

Found one! Had to add it, too!

Purity in the first one, Soulbrush - but the second? I dunno if I could go that far. Thanks for going along with me faking the pictures - with real ones. I'll be right over, Willow!

You are gorgeous! I can't believe you graduated high school 1963. But perhaps, you graduated at 10 years old or something. When I get my scanner I will be sharing all the time. But oh no....not yet. I have a clown looking picture from the 50's with the pin curled hair, but I guess my momma thought it looked good. Bless her heart and soul!!!! It seemed like Aquanet was like 89 cents or something like that back in the early 60's. We were crazy about that stuff. :)

Cynthia! You're still as Beautiful and Young as ever! I love the first one, the hair reminds me of my Mom as she wore it the same way.

Trish - how did you guess - child prodigy - grad at 10 - that's the ticket. Aquanet was affordable and gave the same effect as plastic wrap. Held in winds up to 147 kts and 200% humidity. Is it still around?

Thanks Janeen - yep that was THE style in 63. During my Senior yearI worked at Kresge's - that's a dime store - pre-K-Mart- for you young 'uns. I made 68 cents an hour. Had to work an hour and a half for a can of Aquanet. Oh, almost forgot; I got a 10% discount.

Love it. My high school hairdo looks like the first photo, though I'm a brunette. I'm going to have my kids check out the site!

You have such beautiful thick hair in those photos!! And your dress sounded wonderful.

Great pictures ! And that hair....... wonder if we can still style it like that?

MuseSwings said...

Shelly - it was wonderful! Thanks - yes I did and still do have thick hair. I could probably give that style a try and see what happens other than a few folks mumbling "lost in the 60's" under their breath.

That is sooo cool that you scanned these in! I need to get to it with all of my old pics. I've tried that yearbook site a dozen times.. the pictures never load for me for some odd reason!

Well these are great and you were a "looker" as they use to say... I enjoyed seeing you back then. That red dress sounds wonderful!

I graduated in 1968 and believe me I didn't look very fashionable at all, and I wasn't.

You look marvelous darling! Really, you were a looker, how did the Mister snag you?

MuseSwings said...

Marie - I could't either - I think it's because our computers don't have the program it takes to load. I'll try my other computer and see if that works.

Thanks Sandy! The dress was "so fine"!

Stevie - Thank you! I met the mister on my front steps! It was love at first site and we were married less than 6 months later - twice - I'll tell the story some time!
