Personality Plus Results

What?!?

I just know you're sitting there at the edge of your keyboard wondering what happened with the Personality test I spoke about in lumberous detail on my previous blog. Well, of course I took it. What did ya think? The long version. I was surprised at the results - quite normal for a person who strives for abnormalty. So I've posted the results for your perusal. I think it's only fair that you should know just what kind of person you're dealing with here.

Your results
The questionnaire you filled out measures your scores on five different personality dimensions collectively known as the "Big Five". Below are your scores on each dimension based on the answers you provided, along with some interpretation. If you'd like more information about these personality dimensions, the Wikipedia entry is a good place to start.

Neuroticism
Neuroticism (sometimes also called Emotional Instability) is the tendency to experience negative emotions such as sadness or anxiety. People who score high on neuroticism are vulnerable to stress and tend to experience negative feelings more often. People who score low in neuroticism tend to be less susceptible to stress, and experience negative feelings relatively infrequently.
You scored 16 out of 50. This score is higher than 10.0% of people who have taken this test.

Extraversion
Extraversion (or Extroversion) is the tendency to experience positive emotions and seek out stimulating situations. People who score high on extraversion tend to be active, energetic, and enjoy being around other people. In contrast, people who score low on extraversion, known as introverts, tend to be quiet, low-key, and are typically less involved in the social world.
You scored 33 out of 50. This score is higher than 44.6% of people who have taken this test.

Openness to experience
Openness to experience is a general tendency to appreciate emotion, adventure, and unusual ideas or experiences. People who are open to experience are intellectually curious, appreciative of art, and sensitive to beauty. People with low scores on openness tend to have more conventional, traditional interests.
You scored 46 out of 50. This score is higher than 85.9% of people who have taken this test.

Conscientiousness
Conscientiousness is the tendency to show self-discipline and persistence. People who score high on conscientiousness tend to be persistent, responsible, and duty-driven, but are sometimes perceived as being overly perfectionistic and concerned with order. Individuals low on conscientiousness tend to show less persistence and may have trouble seeing things through.
You scored 39 out of 50. This score is higher than 75.8% of people who have taken this test.

Agreeableness
Agreeableness is the tendency to be sympathetic and cooperative towards others. People who score high on agreeableness strive for social harmony and value getting along with others. Disagreeable people tend to be more suspicious and hostile towards others.
You scored 49 out of 50. This score is higher than 99.6% of people who have taken this test.

Hermitness
Hermitness is the tendency to remain within the confines of one's home and lanai, leave the cell phone in the car, hide the appointment calendar, make the Mister answer the phone and run the errands and place all online orders as "no signature required" so the Fed-Ex person will just drop them and run. People with a high hermitocity rating tend to have a sign over their doorbell that reads" No Solicitors. We are happy the way we are. If anything changes we will notify you."
You scored 75 out of 50. Which is virtually impossible. This score is higher than 100% of the people who have taken the test plus all of those who have not.

Okay, okay, I may have made that last one up.

LOL I was going to ask if you made the last one up. I'm a hermit too.

Well, even if you are a hermitess, at least you are an agreeable one! :)

In my clinical study of you Cynthia, I've concluded that you are a bit of a conundrum. You claim to be a hermit, but you are the most social hermit I've ever come in contact with.

Did the study people tell you how they thought your test compared to your blog persona? Did they mention whether or not they would advise you to seek professional help.....I'm just asking....

youse guys are a riot!

LOL...agreeable and outgoing sounds like the nicest hermit ever! Of course, the only hermit I ever heard of was the grandfather in the book Heidi.

Laughed a lot again! And I love your new word "hermitocity!"

Your results are just as I would have defined you from your blog. However, I have the same question as Stevie. Did they advise you to seek psychiatric care immediately?

I must take this test too! Hermitness - I fluctuate between that and blatant histrionics (is there any other kind?)

Hermitness, ha, ha. I love it and love being a hermit. Telecommuting will do that to you, plus a husband who shops. Great personality profile!

I wasn't surprised by your results - I figured you would be agreeable and open to experiences. The Hermitness one I'm doubting though....

I love this! Very funny!

"Hermitness" haha...

I think of you more as an aspiring hermetess. I was just reading a parenting book that talked about sensitive people who seek new experiences. It's a combination of personality traits that makes you nutty and overwhelmed all the time because you do stuff and get overwhelmed and then want to hide. I'd be a supersensitive, people pleasing, thrill-seeking intermittent hermit if they made a test for such things. :)

Well, congratulations. You are a neurotic pushover. How does that work, exactly?

Bwahahahaha, the last one has me on the floor. That would be ME... So enjoyed this...

You are SO funny!!

Well, no surprise, I'm a full-fledged Hermitness! How did you know?! I go so far as to have an electic gate and fence (pretending to have one because I'm too lazy to get out and open it, when in reality I don't WANT any visitors!!). [lol] Freaky ...

very very cute! (hermit - what a riot)

I don't begrudge your hermit quality or score one bit. Dorothy Parker said it best: "Hell is other people".

Keep your door locked and chained, and loose the hounds on your property to discourage trespassers!

Blicky - I think you hit the nail on the head there! Loose the hounds, Lavinia - that's a hoot. You can barely call Lucy and Layla dogs, much less hounds. But I'll do it!
