Ever since my announcement to the world that I would be bringing Parsnip Fritters to the picnic, the commodities market on Parsnips has gone through the roof, with world-shaking consequences up to and including the collapse of the Easter Island Stock exchange. So you see, Cynthia, how serious it is!

I remain calm and unfazed in the eye of the storm. Expect me at the picnic with bells on!

I'm not ready yet, gosh I will need these 4 days to do the shopping and cooking! But I'll be there with bells on my toes...cause someone might have to come find me if I get lost on the 10 mile hike I'm planning on taking after lunch.

Yes Lavinia! I saw parsnips listed right below the gold prices at the stock exchange all day today. The Mister watches it all day like a disaster film. It's all the news mongers could talk about! Incredible! I know what you are up against here. I was so wanting to taste those, but you are woman and I am confident you will pull through this with flying colors.

I must get ready for the big picnic. I am in a frenzy about what to wear. You know this change of weather deal always throws me for a loop. Our tea party was so much fun I can hardly wait. I will have Avery help me get prepared. Did we get the location straight yet? You know, that could help me with my outfit. You must be exhausted from your cruise. You and Miss Ladyslipper really went in style. I must admit I was quite jealous. Although the thoughts of riding along in a big boat do not get me excited, I would like to go somewhere and have fun. It certainly looks like you guys had FUN!!

Stevie, I'm so glad you thought to wear bells for safety purposes. We'll have to hire someone to keep track of you on that 10 miler because I'm planning to register for the nap in the hammock event right after lunch. First one to fall asleep wins a prize. I just KNOW I can do it.

Trish, I was sure I saw you doing the rumba on the dance floor with the 1st Mate. Could I have been wrong? We'll have to plan another and make sure that everyone other than I the unemployed blogger and Lavinia who can jump on a ship during her lunch hour, can take time off work and join in the fun. It was soooo last minute! We have this picnic to look forward to and we'll have just the best time. Where do you think we should have it???? We haven't really decided.

Muse-swings...don't keep us in suspece any longer....you must reveal the exact wherabouts of the picnic soon. Will it be under ye olde oak tree on yonder hill? Or by ye olde stream at the far end of the buttercup meadow?

Everyone has different ideas as to the perfect locale. It all reminds me of the time Flossie was planning her fourth wedding.

She said, of her groom-to-be: "Well, he's Hungarian, and I'm half Irish, so the only logical place to hold the wedding is Tokyo".

And I replied, "Exactly".

As for the honeymoon, she confided that she prefers the tropics, and he likes the desert, so they compromised and went to the Yukon.

Cynthia we're all set. I just bought out the entire supply of Velveeta from the local supermarket. Now I can begin a-cooking and a-baking for the picnic!

Perfect, Lavinia! I have 42 cases of canned Vienna sausages and 6 cases of SPAM. Ready to rock and roll! We can dip them in some of that Velvita! Mmmm
