Veteran's Day - A Day To Remember

Armistice Day was proclaimed an official day of remembrance by President Woodrow Wilson on November 12, 1919 as a day to remember those who served our country during WWI. It was the War to end all Wars, the Big War. The Armistice is officially recognized as the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918, the day Germany signed the Armistice to end the war
.
President Eisenhower officially changed the name of the day to remember to Veteran's Day in 1954 to include our veteran's of WWII and the Korean War. Today we remember those Veterans and all military men and women who have served our country. We remember them with pride and thanksgiving and we honor them for their bravery and their dedication to our Country.
.
Memorial Day, in May, honors service members who died in service to our country or as a result of injuries incurred during battle. Deceased veterans are also remembered on Veterans Day but the day is set aside to thank and honor living veterans who served honorably in the military - in wartime or peacetime.
.
The United Kingdom also honors their veterans on this day. American soldiers have often fought beside the brave soldiers of the United Kingdom for a common cause
.
It is a day to thank and honor all living veterans.
In my family those include The Mister, Joe, John, Phil (Vietnam and Vietnam Era), Jimmy Jr, Alex (Iraq) Shawn (Nat'l Guard).
